  1. That's not really a bad song,

but now you know that Germany gave us 2 great men : Thorsten and James Last !

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

by the way : James last is the guy doing almost nothing in front of the band, i'd like to know the name of the vocoder pink guy  ;D

  2. i did the upload with MIOS Studio (i thought there were no mac version...) in smart mode, and it worked.

i uploaded the patchbank and it worked !

but now, as explained in this topic http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,11668.0/topicseen.html, i can't generate any sound with only one YAC (cause it's in the "optional" place) so i'm waiting for my second one  ::)

Thanks for your help Thorsten , and for all the work you did (and will do) with ucapps !

  3. hi guys

i don't understand why when i boot my MBFM, i got this screen :

    fmstart.jpg

i saw in the FM Manual, that i should have this one :

    main_inst.gif

i got a bankstick (fully tested and formatted) but i can't upload patchbanks from JSynthLib : each time i try, the core reboots several times during the upload (store) then starts normally but shows the same screen, no patch.

i tried to upload the file bankstick.syx (in the FM setup folder) but same result.

what is wrong here ??? why the Midi Channel is set to 0 ?

  4. Hi guys

i'v build an OPL3 board, buying readymade PCB,

but i have only one YAC512, and i soldered it on the PCB has shown on this image from the Thorsten tutorial : mbhp_opl3_1.jpg

but i realized after that : "on my PCB this is the place for the second YAC, so i'll have only outputs 3 & 4 !

nevermind, i won't take more risk with the YAC, i let it there. "

my two outputs #3 & #4 are working fine (with the Testtone app)

    Now my question :

how can i set my only YAC (OPs 3 & 4) as the main YAC, so the CS will show me OPs 1 & 2 ?

    is it clear ?  :-\

  5. well it helps, but i did a simple continuity test to find the bad pin... more simple ;)  anyway thank you for ur help

by the way i have a new problem with the OPL3, i should start a new topic, but i'll take advantage of your help in this one if u'r agree  ;D

i chekcked all my voltages: -12 +12 +5 everything seems to be ok

i did all the tests : OPL3 wiring (successful) then Testtone.

(i have only one  YAC chip so i have only outputs 3 & 4 available)

    When i run Testtone i got the 1KHz from output 3 but i got a DC voltage (-9V) on output 4 !

    i measured -10V at pin#8 of the last TL074 (IC6) !

do u have any idea about this prob ? is my TL074 down ? do i have any other voltage to check to localize my mistake ?

    thanks

  6. so i made a new wiring for the lcd, paying attention very carefully to pin numbers

and the result  is exactly the same !!

i checked with a small 2x16 testing lcd i made, the MBFM works, the display is ok

i noticed i got a short on the J15 of core module between pin V0 (named VL on the lcd datasheet) and pin Vss

    is it normal ?

    thanks guys

  7. so... i updated to 1.9f and after rebooting the lcd shows me several martians screens then stop on this one :

    mios19.jpg

    nice isn't it ?

i checked my solderings one morrrre time.. nothing (it's simple because at this step i have only the core, the obpl3 and one DIN4 with nothing connected to it, and the LCD)

by the way these are readymade midibox.org boards

so this is for sure lcd wiring, thanks tilted !

but as this lcd have not "in line" pins, i'm a little confused with the numbers :

there are 2 vertical columns of 8 pins :

    the up-right one is #16

and the down-left one is #1

    but what is the down-right pin ? #2 or #8 ???

i think i wired it thinking it was #2

  8. Hi

I build a MD FM since last year... I just reopened my boxes, uploaded FM 1.1 and started it (still in construction)

i got a 2x40 LCD with Backlight from Hantronix named "HDM 402 16L"

and here is what he shows me after booting :

    photo.jpg

? do i need a special driver for this one ? I can't remember where i bought it.

    I use Mios 1.9C

    Thanks

  9. i'm back again,

i still want to modify my VCA system, but i can't buy 24 motorized faders (would be really too expensive)

so i wonder : if i forget about motorize my faders, now i just want to midify my actual optifile

my faders are digitized and controlled by my VCAs,

for the moment these last ones send digital data to my optifile computer which answers back a digital data to control the VCAs

i'd like to build a midibox which can receive the vca datas, transmit them into midi (to my computer), then receive the midi data (from my computer) and transform them into VCA data to control back my faders...

here is the VCA schematic for info http://www.vixneiv.com/images/schemaoptifile.png

  10. Hi

i'v finished a Midibox CV box (with 1 AOUT_LC) and i can't access to menus : the 4 buttons don't seem to respond as wished, i can exit from idle mode, but then i can't modify parameters and navigate... i changed the Din reg, checked everything..

i think i have a problem with my PIC (because i made a voltage mistake once, and i think a part of it is out of order)

is it possible that the main part of my Pic works but not all the Pic ? (digital inputs can be destroyed ? ) i'v ordered a new pic, but i can't stay without trying... ;D
