  1. oh sorry, whatever the voltage regulator is, it's hot. gonna rebuild the PSu to an OPSU, just need to acquire the parts. is there a parts list for this somewheres, in text form?
  2. ok, this is probably bad - on J1 of the CORE i get 5v on both pins. obv j1 pin 1 should be 9. whoa. how hot should the 7809 be?
  3. it seems that i have the same problem?
  4. I have done this, finally, and after having no LCD and no boot for a while, after redoing the LCD interconnect everything works. now only the 7805 is hot, like, can't touch it hot. but, everything seems to be functional. However, upon going into ensemble mode and trying to access the second sid, it registers only one. I connected the SO of Sid2 to J14 like required. no dice. am i missing some fundamental configuration step? thank you guys, i know noobs are really tiresome sometimes. but know that i am having the time of my life, great way to get over an ex-girlfriend :)))
  5. hello, i have added another SID module to my core. i connected it in series, same outputs from the CORE to the second SID module. i have two problems a) now neither sid plays notes, but both are on, i can hear the hum in both channels. b) boths SIDs are hot as fuck. what have i done?? do i have to configure the second SID with a different ID? shittt..
  6. where are you dudes getting these killer knobs and buttons?
  7. and the result is a very happy pkniffer, who gets the go-ahead from god to add 1 more SID. :)))))
  8. WAIT /tilted/, you say that i made a mistake connecting J9:SI on the core to J1:S0 on the DIN, that I should move it to "directly across" the header - but it's not marked? is that correct?
  9. OK ! the AIN has stopped going crazy in ain64_din128_dout128 app. i did not ground the Vd pin. the SID pcb is disconnected. But, still nothing from the DIN. this is a bit insane. i must have a fried IC on the din ! but none work.. hm.
  10. and so yes, you disable them in code - i will find out how to recompile the .asm files to upload to MIOS? do i ground the of each Vd too?
  11. yes you're right.. i did try to search for info about how to ground AIN input, and found nothing. will continue. Must i ground j5, j5a, and j5b? or just one will do all inputs? what is the best way to ground, with a SIL filled with solder?? :)_
  12. thanks! but if i ground the AINs; that's what is causing the inability for DINs?
  13. OK. I have changed the lead to S0 instead of SI. when i load the ain64_din128_dout128 app i get on the LCD: AIN DIN DOUT crazy flashing numbers: 0 1o 1o i disconnected my veroboard to make sure there was no shorts. i connect only the button from the encoder. when i push it, nothing happens. damn. i try to connect it to the other registers to see if it's the first chip, nothing.
  14. great ! thanks guys, i was wondering about that earlier... why there was SI on the other side of the header. the SId is connected dogily, yes, with only half a SIL. i lost the cap :)) but, it makes sounds. it works most of the time. i've even used it at 2 shows so far ! once it wouldn't boot! will try this. thank you so much guys for the help, i couldn't enjoy life last night.
