  1. My programming is not very good. AM just trying to figure out what files to change and how. I have followed the steps in installing perl, ultraedit, mid-ox, and so on. At the moment the mb64 is running the complete application midibox64_v2_4.zip. Am I supposed to edit a file from this? I do not have a bankstick installed, if i did would i be able to it through MIDIbox .syx configuration, should I be looking at serge's midibox editor? I am a bit lost, any pointers in the correct direction would help. Thanks
  2. Hi, I am trying to figure out how to make mb64 LED stay on when button is pressed. At the moment it just turns on and then off again when a button is pressed, and I want the LED to stay on after the button is pressed, and then turn off when the button is pressed again. I have been trying the various parameters in the MB64 and edit events. The different paranmeters for the buttons don't make a difference. Should i be looking to edit the midibox64 ini in the mk_syx? If so what should I be editing? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
  3. Legend!! Thanks for the reply! feels like meeting a celebrity, and to top it off....what i had done was connect din pins J2 to another din on pins j2... yes...just knocked my head against the table a few times....need to shuffle the few brain cells i have left round a bit. Still .... I have to live up to my name....maybe its working in the late hours of the day that add their special twist ;)
  4. Hi, Am building a MB64. Have assembled most components and am now testing. lcd connected, and mios and application has been uploaded. faders and potentiometers behave as they should. The buttons on the other hand are not sending anything, and MIOS studio is not showing anything. I have only connected a handful and wanted to check the menu working. none of them do anything except for the menu/exec button, which send some rather random message? Any suggestions of how I can troubleshoot this? Thanks
  5. i see your point. i dont really have a precision drill, but a plain ordinary one and what made me nervous to try that out. i dont have a board that i can try my drill on to see if that will work...am really tempted though ::)
  6. I have a drill...but seems to be a drastic measure with them all already being stuffed...
  7. well spotted you bright person! I first noticed that on checkout when i decided to double check everything...phew : )
  8. Hi, Another silly one really. The PCB's i purchased have really small holes for the 4 corners, same size as the legs of the componenets. I cant seem to figure out to fix them to a case?? Also would be handy to be able to take them off if the magic doesnt happen and it doesnt work?? Thanks...from miserably rainy london.
  9. Hi, Thanks for your replies! Found an article that others might also find useful. http://sound.westhost.com/pots.htm With regards to the faders with 4 pins and two of them being labelled pin 2... do i connect them to each other?
  10. hi, This is probably one of the dumbest questions but I seem to be a bit lost. I am not sure which pin on the potentiometer or sliders go where on the AIN. The sliders have 4 pins labeled 1 -3 (two of them being labeled 2). The pots just have three pins with no numbers? How can i test which one is which? Any link to info would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. Hi! Thanks for the input people! I completely see your point about the length ... found some shorter ones .. hopefully they will work So thanks for saving me a bit of headache on those. Have been planning, contemplating, and procrastinating for ages ... so now i dive head first in the deep end! : ) Its always the best way to learn ... sort of have to live up tho the nickname ... even if most of the time its my own doing :P
  12. Hi, I am building a midibox64 with sliders, knobs, buttons, and leds. It will be hopefully used for a few things ... control cubase, ableton, and so on. I am just trying to experiment and see how this first project comes out. So far have had a few problems but which have been solved and my core, ltc, dout, and so on seem to be working with the correct voltages. Now is the time to build the case and put it all together. Can anyone have a look at my shopping list and let me know if I have gone wrong anywhere, and general thoughts. The case will be made of wood and plastic front panel. 13. yeah yeah yeah!! i turned the rectifier the right way.....and voila all is how it supposed to be....(fingers crossed, knock on wood) measured the voltages at all the spots IC1:MCLR(1) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5V IC1:Vdd(11) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5V IC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5V IC2(8) - IC2:(5) = 5V and i have 4.94 at all of them.......jubiiii!!!!!! I cant thank you enough for your help....me being so dense and all....absolutely brilliant.... until my next headbanging on the desk moment.... rock on \m/
  14. Hi Lall, yes I have set the multimeter to DC when measuring + - and get 9v, and AC when measuring ~ getting nothing. Is the rectifier supposed to be installed onto the board in a certain direction? Could I have installed it wrong.... Thanks
  15. hi, Thanks for all your comments. My conclusion thus far is that the rectifier has broken. I get nothing at ~, but 9v at the + -. I am trying to get the component from maplins in th uk (B40C800).... does this look like the correct one? W005M http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ITAG=SPEC&ModuleNo=46438&doy=25m4#spec Thanks
