  1. Yeah! That IS cool! But ofcourse, I was thinking about a DIY module vocoder.. With only the "external" inputs... I have seen some old DIY analog beasts, but I was wondering if it was possible to to it either in a software for the MB or alternatively in another module with special software? Maybe its better/easier to build an analog version as a standalone module? But since I'm not really "hip" and "in the game" when it comes to more modern circuits, I thought I'd ask here!
  2. Hello! Yet another silly hypothetical question from sweden ;) Has anybody on this forum thought about the possibilities of making a midibox-vocoder module? (Soft- or hardware based) /Jonas of Sweden
  3. Hey, Thanks for the thurrough response! Seppoman has managed to explain it clearly to me! thanks! So basically, my hi-fidelity dreams were crushed ;) , but what about an lo-fi sampler circuit? how would that change the this setup? doesn't all samplers work by the same principal, or do you mean that it would be possible to build an 8-bit sampler of a more basic character? I would of course be intressted in a lo-fi sampler for making rythms and beats! tell me more pls! ;)
  4. Hej Kompisar! ;) well, Actually I was interested in learning actually how a keyboard like the clavia nord electro really works, playing back one sound sample per pressed key on a keyboard... And of course if anyone here knew how or if they'd actually done it. I'm mostly into analog circuits and a total n00b on MIDI, but I figured If anyone had built a DIY sampler, they'd hang out here! ;) The biggest reason for me wanting to know, is that: I love the sound of harpsichord (cembalo) but in most EPs and modules, the cembalo sound is not quit satisfactory, probably beacause of its change in tonality from the lowest C to the Highest C. I have e-mailed the R&D at clavia several times but it seems that I am one of the few people on this planet who really would like to have a good harpsichord / cembalo sample... =( blip 'til you blop.. drop! /Jonas
  5. Hello, I'm a relatively new member from sweden. i was wandering after having spent days on this forum, if there is anyone here who has thought about creating a module for playing sampled sounds? Not just 1 voice loops but more like a polyphonic sampler circuit, like clavia nord electro, multi sampled piano or harpsichord sounds. Would it be hard to create a circuit with adressable memory so that when I press the c3 key on my keyboard, a sampled c3 piano tone gets played? /Jonas
  6. Awsome! :o Thats what I figured I'd use it for, and maybe to trigger vocal effects momentarely...
  7. well, I dunno... ;) Thats why I asked! ;D Thanks so much for your replies to my silly questions! I've been checking out some other Pic/basic stamp circuits but it seems like the MBHBcore and DINx are the way to go... thnx again! /Jonas
  8. .... maybe there's an easier way of going about it? A stripped down coremodule that only handles what I want? Does anybody know where I can get Info on PICs and Programming hints? /Jonas
  9. Oh, Allright so if I'd want to make an old digital joystick like the Tac II (2 cool!) into a MIDI controller, All I need is basically a core module and a DINx? I realize that you don't have many key combinations on a joystick like that, but It should be programmable right? my Idea is this... Tac II--->[programmable converter]--->midi ..so that I can control every midicontrollable thing I feel like! //Jonas
  10. really? All I found was joystik implementations based on pots ... the tac II and others are simple devices with 5 or 6 channels that gon on/off if im not mistaken...? see diagram here http://www.rickard.gunee.com/projects/video/pic/c64joy.png /jonas
  11. a short fill-in... Kindof like http://highlyliquid.com/kits/midi2600/ but reversed.. a Joystick-to-MIDI thing! Wouldn't it be great using a oldskool joystick or joypad to control your synths during a live session?
  12. Hello! I'm quite new to this forum and currently checking out the possibilites with this great invention, MidiBox! I'm very close to purchasing a midibox SID kit to fulfill my analog synth wet dreams! ;) But, I do have a question.. What are the possibilities of using standard Dsub 9-pin joysticks like modifiers? for instance, A tac II joystick connected to a AIN or DIN module and routed to the core to transform the joystick signals to MIDI.. Are there simpler ways? Thoughts appriciated! /Jonas Petrini, SWEDEN
