  1. It seems evey time I post something I figure out my own problem within a couple hours. I got the core and sid up and running. Even got my first .sid songs running off it. Everything seems to be running smoothly. I took the heat sink off my old c64 and put it on the 7805 on the core. Runs hot but within reason. Only it and the 6581 are the ones getting any heat at all. My 2x40 display is doing good and I've already ordered a din and ain from smash. I'm a happy boy! ;D
  2. I've connected a 15v 1a psu to the sid module first, then ran a connector from j1 on the sid to j1 on the core. All the core voltages measure correctly(5v), but I get nothing in the sid pics. BTW, I haven't installed any chips yet. I measured the voltage at the sid regulator and got 12.90 from middle to left pin(Vs to IN on smashes board or when numbers on the regulator are facing you) and 11.80 from middle to right(Vs to OUT). Any suggestion?
  3. I think I revived my core. Grounding out pin #1 on my pic brought it back to life. I checked the voltage on my c64 psu and the 9v side is dead. Time to search for a new psu. 12v 1a for a core and sid (6581) right? Thanks -D
  4. I have completed a core and sid build. The core worked fine yesterday after I applied a 9v500ma power to it (I failed in my attempt to convert my c64 power supply). I was even able to load mios and the lcd worked good too. Today after I got some new parts I tried to use the optimized power supply plans from TK and my core stopped responding. The 7805 got extemely hot, but it did the same yesterday before I used a 9v pwsply. I put the 9v pwsply back on and nothing. I replace the 7805 and still nothing. Please help
