  1. Thanks for the hint... I will investigate this simple project which uses 12F629 to convert midi to din sync. I'd be more interested in RESET-trigger than start/stop pulse though. Now if the master midi clock is reset, the slave sequence stays in sync, but is out of beat. So the slave sequence would have to be manyally reset at tick 1 (or by pressing stop and start in some cases). So it's not actually sync-standard, but a trigger at every 1:st tick that is easily adapted to analog sequencer use. I'm in impression that it could be accomplished by midibox CV. Anyone knows if this is possible with mbsid also (using aout_lc or not) ?
  2. I'm about to finish my building of MBSID v1 synth. It's got 1xSID (6851) and a simple control surface (step 1). I came to a realization a while ago that I might need MIDI Clock to DIN Sync converter soon ( For my diy analog/digital modular synth project). Did a search on midibox projects and found that at least Midibox CV is capable of sending clock sync out of core pin J14. Is there a way to get the sync signals out of the core module (or AOUT_LC even) while running Midibox SID? I need both the reset and the clock (undivided or divided). I would really appreciate any help, to get my mbsid finally boxed up and doing it's thing!! There is always the possibility of acquiring another core module running Midibox CV and building a simple midi to din sync converter. Any other cheap diy methods of doing this?
  3. Problem solved, bad wiring. Works great! I indeed had the SC and SD lines backwards. I guess the image on bankstick page was too much of a labyrinth for me... Btw, my bankstick module is just an ic-socket wired directly to the pins on the core. Thanks to anyone who participated, I'm now one step further for finishing off this little monster!
  4. Thanks for notifying me about that particular hex file. I have actually tried every hex file I could find and tried modifying the .asm files and recompiling but still no sign of bankstick detected. You ought to hear some output from sid while bankstick is being formatted, right?
  5. hello I'm stuck with building a midibox sid. I can't get the bankstick to work. When I turn on the power, while 'virgin' bankstick is connected, nothing happens. I have tested 2 different eeproms (24lc512 and 24c256). I'm using the default setup_6581_without_cs.HEX. Do I need to edit something to get my bankstick working & formatted? Is there a way to scan for banksticks or any other debug option? I really wish to pass this problem step and proceed further in building. Thank you very much for your reply.
