  1. Yes, I meant after tested of course :). I'll be making a very basic stereo sid and will run them through their paces. Thanks for the link on the power supply tip. I'm looking forward to getting started on this project. I sold my elektron SID Station b/c I found it frustrating to program, but I loved the sound. So the advanced control panel for the Midibox SID will be quite fun.
  2. Thanks, I'm familiar with the MB-6582, so the one on the homepage is actually Wilba's board.... that makes sense then. I already have my name in for some 6582's to purchase. If anyone is interested in some 6581's, I'll definately have extra. I'm going to mixing mine with both. 6582's for bass modules, nice dirty 6581's for leads, etc. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just make a stereo sid with the core an sid boards while I wait for the 6582 boards to come out. Another question. I have several C64 and 128 PSU's, do I need to do anything special so I can run both chips safely?
  3. So I've been collecting SID chips from old C64 and 128's and I have about 12 now (all of them 6581, not a single 8580.... erg). I only have one confirmed working one, the rest I'm going to have to test. I'm getting ready to start building this sucker but I've become a little bit confused. On the main page for the V2, the internals pic shows all the chips in a nice PCB http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid.html Yet on the picture index page of the build, you can see it's all in the modular setup all on breadboard. http://www.midibox.org/midibox_sid_photos/ So, my question is, what is that PCB and are the plans available for that one? I'm more of a kit guy than a DIY guy, but I'm learning. I'd prefer to have this on PCB, but I can make do with the breadboards if it comes to that. I know there's PCB kits for single chip versions, but I want to make the 8 chip version, and having it all on one PCB would be very nice.
