Ok, so I have built my optimised power supply but I have one slightly unusual result. I have followed the scematic but rather than getting 5vdc and 14v DC I get 5v DC and 9v DC. When I check the output of the bridge rectifier its putting 12v DC out. I have tried 2 different power supplies so I know its not the power supply at fault. Is someone able to tell me the voltage that should be comming directly out of the bridge rectifier before it hits the Caps? Could the problem be the bridge rectifier dropping the voltage? What should the voltage be out of the bridge rectifier? I wasnt able to get the B40C80 so I used a 1b4b42, which is 1amp 100v. Then on to the next point, because Im using a 8580 SID the SID actually requires 9v and my supply is putting out 9.02v then coudlnt I actually just feed that to the SID module as long as I use a 7809 voltage regulator and replace the c1&2 caps with 6,8nF? Be greatful if someone could help me understaqnd why Im getting 9v rather than 14 and then if I can use the 9v to power the SID module. Thanks!

Hey there, any chance of being able to get these cases shipped outside of the US? If not then I will just get it shipped to someone I know in the US and then get them to ship it to me from there. Also, what do you expect the cases and the panels to cost? Or do you not know that until you have the numbers? Reason being is that I can get laser cutting done myself as I have a friend who is an industrial designer, but him doing a one off might cost more than this bulk offer....

I figured if I have the chance to get my hands on a bunch of new SIDs that I might as well get as many as I will ever need as there is a finite supply of them. I want to make sure I have enough spares to replace any that fail for the rest of my life basicly :) Also, after I finish my MB-6582 project I want to make sure I have enough incase I want to try my own designs aswell.

Yep, Im gutted I missed this sale too but Im just gonna start building mine and source recovered chips for now until Wilba does another sale, which he has said he would if he gets enough interest so anyone who is after sids make sure you add your name to the list on the Wiki !
