  1. Hi, just finished my samich sid, its going well so far... though I notice scrolling through some of the presets some are loud and some a really quiet? Is this normal?
  2. I was not confidant removing the pic, I went to jay car and asked for an ic pick yesterday when I ordered bought another 6n138 (just in case that was faulty) and the guy recons he never seen one??? I bridged middle pins of the jmo & jmi. I did not see any mid fed back loop message? Is this what I should have expected? the CS was not connected if that make any difference? I will perform led test, do the shunts need to be installed on jmo & jmi headers? cheers
  3. Cheers mate! LOL on the crowbar Will let you know how I go. Thanks again!
  4. Cool I will have a look at this tonight, the diagram for this on the midi trouble shooting page was kinda hard for me to relate to the sammich. I don't have my unit in front of me, where are the Tx and Rx pins? Any tips on removing the pic? "Alternatively, leave the PIC installed, remove shunts from JMI and JMO and connect the MIDDLE pin of JMI to the MIDDLE pin of JMO. This disconnects the PIC from the MIDI In/Out circuits and loops-back the MIDI In signal to MIDI Out." this sound like the easier option (so I don't damage the pic) would cut resistor wire held on to the pins work? cheers mate! Thanks
  5. Hi did you ever resolve your problem? I seem to be having the same problem (midi in)... though I am using 6582a's
  6. sorry for crap pics I will try and do some better ones later.. if I can???
  7. Hey Peter thanks for reply! PSU; powertech input 240VAC 50Hz output 12VAC Current 500mA I tried my motu micro lite midi interface with the same results. My photography skills are not the best, if you have any further picture requests please let me know and I will try my best. These are some pics so far...
  8. Hi, I am in the final stages of finishing my sammich :frantics: I had some dramas last night trying to upload the firmware  I installed the IC's last night (as per help here ) I get this message All midi cables are connected correctly, I did the midi interface feedback loop test last night with success. All IC's were installed the right way, the sammich powers on and the lcd has ready message on it, on boot up (sammich) I get the MIOs 1.0g C 2009 T.Klose message. Sometimes when plugging/unplugging the midi cables, the back light lcd led flickers or turns off... and once after power cable was disconnected, while removing the midi cables the back light led was still on? Any idea where to from here? cheers Edit "JMO header has the shunt installed correctly"
  9. Love your work! 20-34  thanks!
  10. Hi I am in the final stages of finishing my sammichSID build, I am up to installing the Ic's. The build guide reads, "I recommend installing the “Bankstick†ICs (IC6, IC7, IC8, IC9, IC10) and the SIDs (IC1L, IC1R) after fully completing both PCBs, uploading MIDIbox SID firmware and having a fully working control surface. This allows you to watch the formatting of the Banksticks by the MIDIbox SID firmware." So do I upload the firmware then install ICs (IC6, IC7, IC8, IC9, IC10) and the SIDs (IC1L, IC1R)? When do I install ICs IC1, IC2, IC3, IC4? I seem to have missed this part... Cheers
  11. Can any one else confirm the build log? I searched with no luck... Cheers
