  1. I played around with the new version a bit. My summary:

    - When I downloaded the latest build, it was already newer and not compatible anymore with the one 1 WEEK old build 1029

    - The editor seems to be faster than one year ago

    - Thorstens panel works nicely when it comes to editing

    - However the most important thing does not work : Loading a saved sound and sending it to the Sammich

  2. Doesn't work for me :(

    I received:

  3. Congrats. This is an adorable little synthesizer  But what do you mean with V3 ?

Not a biggie. one thing I did forget to mention. The encoder seems a bit flaky. When I am browsing patches, it will occasionally jump back or forward. Sometimes its only a couple patches, sometimes it could be as far as 50. I can change patches no problem with the up and down buttons. I double checked the solder joints and they look solid.

Uhm, wtf. I soldered 3 Sammichs and I got this on all 3. Well, to be more precise, when it jumps, it jumps back, mostly by one. Thought it was my fault.

  4. Hi All (first post!)

I have been a bit SID fan for years; most of our tracks use a HardSID 4U (6581 + 6582 + 2x8580). The HardSID is fantastic but I have a few issues with it that SUPER annoy me.

Hehe, first post? Well, on this forum! I know you from other forums as well, such as DSI and Jomox (where I am jus a Lurker). And since I am active on this forum I can tell you that I really like the music that you two guys make.

(and the mastering of a certain magazine sucked, your original music was better iirc + imho)

I was once intersted in the Hardsid, I downloaded the editor and it was terrible. If I remember correctly, making polypatches was the horror, as you had to edit every osc at once, including the wavatable settings...

Also the support seems to be terrible of those guys.

    Macht folgender (einfacher) Gedanke Sinn?

  7. Seems like the LCD is about to die. (that's actually the second faulty LCD of 4... I had).

What are the specs I need to know to get a replacement ?

If you are from Germany, can you show me one please? It should fit to the green LED lamps if possible. (black and white display would be cool too, does not need to have green in it)

    Thanks :-(

  9. The new build does not work at all with the new SID panel. To be honest I think the ctrl project is pretty much failsauce... it has been around quite a while and there have been many builds but it is still buggy as hell. Well, I can't complain, it's freeware afterall, I know, but Thorsten, I think you must take over the complete ctrl project, the original maker is overchallgend and I gave up on him :P OK, mean jokes aside, here is the error message I get:

    Callback error: requestinit

    lua runtime error

    at line -1

    what

    c

    name what:

    method

    Name:

    setmodulatorvalue

    Callback error: sendens

    lua runtime error

    at line 43

    string "..."

    error message

string "...": 43: attempt to call global "sendsysexparameter16' (a nil value)

    method disabled

    ------------------------

By the way, all of the recent versions of ctrl take ages to just load.

  10. R945 fixes the issues I mentioned earlier. However, one important issue remains: I can't send the patches to my Sammichs.

The Midi configuration should be OK. I can receive patches and send out knob changes. But when I load a panel into the Ctrl frame, the panel data, or the patch, does not get send to the Sammich.

Something does get send tho, as I can see the (correct) light of the correct channel blinking of my multichannel midi interface. I also tried the "send panel" button but it does not do anything.

A window pops up, stating that it's "sending messages" but it does not do so. No light emitting, nothing.

Overall the Ctrl Frame seems very buggy to me. Lots of smaller problems all over the place. But this could basically be a very cool software!

  11. Thank you Thorsten for your work! This looks very promising! It does not work for me yet but once it does I will be happy because this basically seems to be better to work with than with the Java Editor with two sammichSIDs. I can open two panels with different Midi assignments and safe them. That's nice! Plus I could probably get rid of Midi Yoke.

As noted in the original post, Ctrl 964 fails completely but I can't use 934 either because I get this:

    30jpa34.jpg

I can't select Sid1, Instrument 1 or Lead Mode. When I click on those nothing happens. The editor also takes a long time to load. The receive button seems to work. I am on Win7 64 Bit, testet both 32 and 64 bit versions. I actually did not do any further testing yet, I don't know if all those buttons actually do anything ( should have tested that I know...). It's a shame that the Ctrl autho deletes all older versions !!

  12. Distortion when playing multiple notes using a filter tends to happen even with normal SIDs so that might not be anything to be overly concerned about.

Any chance you can record some chords with your Sammich?

    - Init patch with two Waveforms

    - Sustain 15 , Volume 127

    - Filter on, LP set somwhere into the middle

    - Chords with 3 Notes

Would be great to hear whats going on!
