  1. Okay, at least one SID is working fine. I believe the other is running very quietly, and not getting any Note Off signals. That is, if I press a C3 note using the default Lead patch, I get one loud signal until I let go of the key. Then I get a much quieter signal with infinite sustain - when I press another note, it triggers okay, but the same behaviour follows.

I've done a bit of a search, but nobody else has reported the same thing. The default patch bank has failed to load in properly, so I'll try to upload it via MIDIox instead and see if that makes any difference.

  2. I had to change from Xicon to Lelon for my kits, I can't remember when, but probably 200 kits ago... They seem identical in size and colour, and I'm assuming performance - I'm pushing the limit using a 2200uF 16V electro instead of 25V and no reports of explosions or blue smoke death

Hah! I blew mine up because I'm an idiot - and replaced it with a 25V Suntan brand from Jaycar when I picked up the recommended power supply :)

  3. G'day guys,

I'm using the regulated 12V power supply from Jaycar electronics that was recommended to me by Wilba, part number is MP3242.

    When voltage testing, I got 5.02V, 9.03V, and 12.31V.

Given that the instructions keep saying 'exactly 12V' and I've got a pair of 6581 chips, I'm more than a little concerned. I got these because I prefer the filter on them; I'd hate to have to on-sell them and get a couple of later models.

Any suggestions you have will be much appreciated!

    Chris
