  1. It's been a few months and haven't had any reply. I am still interested in doing this. Wondering if someone has the schematics / gerber file of the control PCB so I can get one made using something like PCBWay? Its been out of stock on the modularaddict website for a long time now and I've requested a notification of when its back to no avail. All that is provided is a PDF file on the mb6582 wiki page. Thanks
  2. TL;DR - If you have any parts you'd like to sell me for a reasonable price to help me on my Midibox SID journey please reach out! Shipping to South Australia. I'm aiming for 8580-only. I've been having a lot of fun making music with InSIDious SID, the SID emulation Reaktor Ensemble / VST. Rather than limiting myself to a single SID chip, I've instead used it as a general-purpose synth, multitracked and used with effects - basically just enjoying seeing how capable the SID is. I've made a few tunes now which I've linked some at the bottom (theres 3 newer ones under the main account too) I think I've made enough tunes using the SID in emulation to the point where I might have to accept that its just 'my sound' at this point, and now I think it's time to perform all these tunes and hopefully create a whole load of new ones using the real deal not only to see how they compare to the emulation, but it feels right to be using the real deal too. Compared to other hardware, Midibox SID fits the bill well for me because I've never tried to limit myself to making a tune with just 1 SID chip. Maybe I will in future, but I'm treating it as though it were an instrument, and I believe there would have been nothing stopping anyone since the inception of the SID chip from creating multitracked tunes bounced to casette or similar (Tascam et al) just as they might have with say a Juno 106 or Yamaha DX7. With that said, I've got soldering experience, having completed the Yocto-808, Shruthi-1 and LXR synths successfuly, and I'd like to add the Midibox SID to my collection of DIY stuff (the only hardware synths that I haven't ended up selling!). I can follow instructions and put things together, but I would not consider myself very cluey with electronics generally speaking. Here's some wants and preferences, any help would be greatly appreciated: * I prefer the 8580 SID - I'd like to load it up with the max of 8 (but then, wouldn't we all?!) * Currently the Control Surface PCB is out of stock. Are there some gerber files or similar that I could use maybe with PCBWay, where I could have both fabricated? * Power supply option E (the use of a wall wart - not interested in the C64 PSU) * OLED screen with a 'window' / plastic cover on the case. * Open to all case options - have preferences with metal or laser cut front panel with the option to use something like wood-end cheeks or full metal casing. The plastic option is my least preferred. Thanks in advance. I suspect this will take quite some time to finish - but I have experience getting projects over the line - the only thing that will stop me is being unable to source parts - or being extremely priced out.
