As I recall when I inititially installed my bank stick it took a while to format and I think it had 64 pre programmed patches notice I said "I think"... Anyway I think I need to reformat it since I cannot save any patches to it... I go to the Save menu and all I get is the following...

E#  do!

E---

I followed the guideline on the stereo sid "First steps" but am unale to save... When I scroll thru the the patches I get the default Lead Patch and all the rest are blank.... Oh BTW the Stereo SID rocks... I have not been able to mess with it much since I am a stay at home dad with my 11 month old son so time is a rarity for me...

You have to press the button under the "do!"

Maybe this should be renamed "Doh!"  ;D

Try'd that and nothing...

This is what happens...

When pushing the 1st button E001 will flash with an underscore under the 2nd "0"... When I turn the encoder I get E--- with an underscore under the 2nd "-"... SHould I not be able to dial in the bank# with the encoder?

Oops...

You are in the Ensemble menu and therefore saving an Ensemble, not the patch itself.

Saving a patch is via the "SAV" menu at the far right in the main menu... i.e. "OSC FIL LFO ENV .......... SAV"

right, and the described behaviour is typical when no "suitable" bankstick is found. So you probably have only one bankstick connected - for saving ensembles, you need a separate additional bankstick.

How do I get out of the Ensemble menu? I am going into the main menu and entering SAV...

Here is the sequence of what I am doing...

E001|A004 Ld  Chn. 1

1***|<empty>

Hit the first button get the following...

Ensemble: E001*

SID CLK FIL INS EXT SAV

Now I press the button under SAV and get the following...

E#  do!

E001

Hit the button (2nd button) under do! get the following

--Save Ensemble--

Then it flash's back to...

E#  do!

E001

Obviously I am not doing something right... I have a bankstik plugged in that will hold 64 patches that are all empty so it must be working...

Thanks...
