dontplaymygame Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 hi i just finish my midibox and everything is functioning normal, accept for one thing. when i press a push button from my midibox, a note sound can be heard on ableton..does anyone know how i can eliminate that note sound and from where it is coming?10x Quote
stryd_one Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I moved this to misc, because this is an ableton usage question rather than a midibox troubleshooting one... The button is meant to send a note message, so the midibox is working :) Quote
dontplaymygame Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Posted May 13, 2008 ok the buttons are sending an on/off note, but can the note sound be eliminated in ableton?10x Quote
sebiiksbcs Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 - so you do want the midibox to work with note on/off messages? if not, you could easily use control change messages instead.- if you need note on/offs to map to anything, then sure, just send on a different channel, or configure different channels for your tracks in ableton.- aren't there a 'track' and a 'remote' switch for each device in the midi preferences? I think 'track' is for midi notes of the particular device to record melodies, and 'remote' allows to use the note messages of the device to be mapped. I haven't got ableton here, so tell me if I am wrong! Quote
dontplaymygame Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Posted May 13, 2008 10x man it works now hurry ;D Quote
sebiiksbcs Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 was the 'track' / 'remote' thing i said right? i am curious... Quote
