The thought had occurred to me too, but I had just installed the OS so I was only going to do it at a last-ditch. I even tried to use a regular retail CD to install it (I had used a provided Leopard CD previously) but the retail CD couldn't activate the back-like for some reason. Anyhow I reinstalled the OS, with the same options, using the same disk. And it works. Oh well, I got a boost of morale and might even finish the project in the next week.
