skyline7 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Does anyone know where I can buy a DIN 7 socket in the US that matches the pinout on the MB-6582 PCB? I purchased some from Digi-Key, but the footprint was wrong. All the other DIN 7 sockets I've found on other sites match the pinout from Digi-Key, not the one on the MB-6582 board. Quote
Wilba Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Can you post a link to the part from Digi-Key? I'd like to know how the footprint is different. For your trouble, I will post you one that fits for free, send me your address in a PM. Quote
strophlex Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I had the same problem. This seemes to be a more or less standard footprint: D7 (CL1909) @ http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/59156.pdfI guess yours have the same footprint eventhough they are not from the same manufacturer, skyline7. Wilba Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I believe the 8-pin DIN socket in that datasheet has a footprint that matches the MB-6582 base PCB, but with an extra pin (pin 8) which you could trim off.I will have to check the dimensions more carefully. I know SmashTV was considering using 8-pin DIN sockets in the kits for various reasons, the socket itself would be compatible with the 7-pin DIN plug of a C64 PSU. Quote
skyline7 Posted September 28, 2008 Author Report Posted September 28, 2008 Here's the part I ordered that didn't fit:http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=CP-2370-ND Quote
Wilba Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Well, that's annoying... not even the 8-pin from this manufacturer will fit.I used the same footprint as the DIN socket in the C64, and I bought a bag of 100 at the time which had the same footprint.I expected it to be a standard, much like 5-pin DIN sockets (aka. MIDI sockets). One free socket to skyline7! :)Just PM me your details. Quote

offe Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Hi, I found a DIN-7 at Elfa (42-239-13) that fits the pcb. See http://www1.elfa.se/elfa~eu_en/go.jsp?s=eu-en&a=0/48C87B88DDE7453BE10000000A0A036A/48C91B2A04D6453BE10000000A0A036A/48C91DBE04D6453BE10000000A0A036A/48CB75A981B7453BE10000000A0A036A/offe Quote
