Sephult Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Does anyone know what to do to use the LTC.I see that j11 of the core is the connection, and I know the optocoupler must not be stuffed. Has anyone tried the possibility of switching between the LTC and regular midi inputs? Does anyone think it is possible to just bypass the optocoupler by using a switch at pin #6 ?_sephult Quote
LO Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 never tried this? Why would you want to do it? Quote
Sephult Posted July 10, 2003 Author Report Posted July 10, 2003 Hello LO!I was wondering if there was any problems with just using a switch at pin #6 to bypass the optocoupler.I want to do this so that I am able to choose whether I can run with MIOS on a COM port or be able to direct connect to my outboard gear with MIDI.The main reason is that I need to control my project from a laptop that doesn't have a 15pin Joystick port. However, it does have a COM port :) Quote
stryd_one Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 I wonder if it would be possible to make a COM-to-MIDI MIDIBox? I can't imagine it being terribly difficult, MIDI is serial anyway, if the baud rate is the same, it's just a matter of moving a few bits around (pardon the pun) Quote
Sephult Posted July 12, 2003 Author Report Posted July 12, 2003 Ha, Well just use the LTC its the same thing without moving all those bits. I was just wondering if anyone had used both at the same time in a setup, I am interested in trying it out. Thanks for the humor, I needed it.-Sephult :) Quote
