TDB Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Hi everybody,Recently i've come accross the Fablab website. Fablab is a MIT initiative and brings a small lab to the amateur developer. For little money you can use professional machines for your own projects. Turns out there's one practically around the corner from where I live in The Hague in the netherlands :D so I'm planning on using an epilog laser to cut my frontpanel. It cuts plexiglas with a maximum size of 60*30cm, wich is perfect for my project. Maybe someone is interested in splitting the costs for rental of the machine? It's 50 euro for half a day, and having a lasercut plexiglas panel send to them by mail? By the end of this month my design should be ready, i'm ordering the plexiglas at www.bouwplastics.nl. Designs will be imported into coreldraw, wich imports nearly anything. I'm using sketchup for the designs, wich is an incredibly easy tool to create dxf files. Finally here's a link to the manual of the epilog laser http://www.epilogfiles.com/mini_helix_manual.pdfSend me a message if you're interested,Best regards Daan Quote
