banneduser Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 I'm planning on building a MIDIbox to control my Traktor DJ studio. As i need bot pots and encoders i will use 2 cores, one MIDIbox64 and one MIDIbox16E.I want to use 4 encoders and 56 buttons, and want to connect them all to the 16E core. I assume thats possible? I first wanted to use the 64 to control the buttons, but then i figured i would need a DIN less if i use the 16E for that.My question is: can i drive normal LEDs (not rings) with the 16E core, or can i otherwise use a DOUT module on the 64 to drive the LED's that are used for monitoring buttons used in the 16E core? I dont need LEDrings at all so that sould be possible right?Hope you understand my question. :D/edit: I forgot to say that i only need 18 LEDs, so i'll be using a DOUTX3.
pay_c Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 I would suggest that you build some MIOS core. There you can use pots/encoders and "normal" LEDs at one time. And since you (I think so...) will use this thing only for Traktor, there is no need for a bankstick or for changing the #CC parameters. You would save one core and one LCD that way (and wouldn´t have two different devices in a row). If you don´t know what I´m talking about, check the MIOS Introduction page. It´s quite not hard to programm some MIOS app by yourself, also check the examples.
banneduser Posted July 20, 2003 Author Posted July 20, 2003 is that possible? cool. saves me quite some cash ;) the site is pretty hard to understand when your native language is dutch ;). I've been looking into ways to achieve this, but what i made up out of the info on the site is that that would be impossible. I'll go read it again :)thank you very much!
