DINX and DOUT module

I'm planning on building a MIDIbox to control my Traktor DJ studio.

As i need bot pots and encoders i will use 2 cores, one MIDIbox64 and one MIDIbox16E.

I want to use 4 encoders and 56 buttons, and want to connect them all to the 16E core. I assume thats possible? I first wanted to use the 64 to control the buttons, but then i figured i would need a DIN less if i use the 16E for that.

My question is: can i drive normal LEDs (not rings) with the 16E core, or can i otherwise use a DOUT module on the 64 to drive the LED's that are used for monitoring buttons used in the 16E core?

I dont need LEDrings at all so that sould be possible right?

Hope you understand my question. :D

/edit: I forgot to say that i only need 18 LEDs, so i'll be using a DOUTX3.

I would suggest that you build some MIOS core. There you can use pots/encoders and "normal" LEDs at one time.

And since you (I think so...) will use this thing only for Traktor, there is no need for a bankstick or for changing the #CC parameters.

You would save one core and one LCD that way (and wouldn´t have two different devices in a row). If you don´t know what I´m talking about, check the MIOS Introduction page. It´s quite not hard to programm some MIOS app by yourself, also check the examples.

is that possible? cool. saves me quite some cash ;)

the site is pretty hard to understand when your native language is dutch ;). I've been looking into ways to achieve this, but what i made up out of the info on the site is that that would be impossible.

I'll go read it again :)

thank you very much!
