banneduser Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 I am still trying to figure out how to get the PIC programmed.Can I simply build the CORE and SID modules, program the PIC with the main.hex file found in the SID firmware zip, and have a working SID that is controlled by MIDI fed to the CORE, with no control surface or display,but be able to add them at a later time?
goyousalukis Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Yes, but you need a PIC programmer in order to burn the hex into the PIC. You can either build the JDM programmer board shown under the MHBP section, or buy a pre-built (more expensive) pic programmer.

goyousalukis Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Yes, I will certainly burn one for you if you need it. I'm in the US. Since the SID runs on MIOS, once you burn the bootstrap loader, you can load new versions via SYX.
