hiya,

i have repeatedly edited .ini files in various ways to test for changes. i use a perl script to convert the files into .syx files and i upload them to my core module with MIOS studio using the Sysex Send/Receive window. Whenever I upload the file to the core, the midi monitor In window in MIOS studio says this:

00000001981489 ms | SysEx: F0 00 00 7E 40 00 01 F7

00000001985588 ms | SysEx: F0 00 00 7E 00 00 7E 43 04 04 62 43 43 20 23 20 30 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 31 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 32 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 33 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 34 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 35 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 36 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 37 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 38 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 20 39 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 30 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 31 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 32 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 33 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 34 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 62 43 43 20 23 31 35 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 2A F7

00000001986344 ms | SysEx: F0 00 00 7E 43 0F F7

00000001987093 ms | SysEx: F0 00 00 7E 43 0F F7

00000001987843 ms | SysEx: F0 00 00 7E 43 0F F7

but there never seems to be any changes to the data being sent from my midibox. i have tried limiting the number of pots, specifying a midi channel, changing pots to send Note On messages instead of Controller data, and even switching all the pots to do the same thing, but nothing ever changes.

Please Help - mike

Ok, first off, there may be answers in the stuff you posted, but I just came in from a long shift, so I'll just try a few simple suggestions:

You CAN use a perl script to convert hex to Syx, but that is only necessary if you're NOT using MIOS studio.

When you're in MIOS studio, you should not have to bother with that stuff.

MIOS studio is pretty reliable, but I must ask a few questions:

You should be using "Hex File Upload" screen, not the SysEx screen..

In the MIOS hex file upload screen, is "Smart Mode" Selected? It really should be.. This will offer some confirmation that both MIDI connections are working.

Good Luck, and please report back with whatever you find.
