Hi guys,

after a few months of chaos at work and home, I decided to finish long-time started project of midibox 64. It works fine, we already have few parties with it (designed especially for Traktor). Only minor problem is with pot->button modification (see this thread:http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=troubleshooting;action=display;num=1052757915) for which I have no solution - if someone knows how to fix this, please tell me.

Anyway, I sat down few days ago and started working on the DOUT module. My box has 64 buttons (2 x DIN), but I need only 16 LEDs, so I made 1 x DOUT. I soldered 8 LEDs just for testing purposes, connected it to the core, started midibox and nothing happened.

I checked all connections on the board, cable to the core module, even bought new four 74HC595 chips to be sure they are ok, checked that all cathodes are wired to 74HC595 chips, but still the same - no light in LEDs  :(

What else should I check...?

Is there something specific has to be set-up in order to get flashing LEDs? In Vmidibox maybe?

Hi,

yes, the DOUT shift registers have to be configured, there are several options (box-controlled, MIDI controlled) - see the DOUT shift register map in vmidibox

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Hi

My mistake  :(

I connected LEDs wrong... I figured out today, resoldered them and everything works fine.

About shift registers: tried to change them and everything worked as expected.

Thanks TK for reply
