parallel port midi interfase ??

hello

i need to build one parallel port midi interfase  , so i can play my midi box , with my laptop , on stage ,  but i dont have enogth money to buy a usb cable .....(i live in a third world country)  ...

i know that there is a file called paramida.zip that have some info , but it jsut dont have any schematic .

can someone provide some info ????

why parallel port mid interface? and not serial port?
