Hi,

I'm using my mb6582 with Live and sometimes, Live's patch changes on one channel wipe out another channel or two. The other channels say "Lead Patch" on the LCD and they sound like Lead Patch, but the patch number on the LCD is still correct.

Anyone seen this before?

Hi,

you have to consider that patch changes consume more than 1 mS (unfortunately, thats the disadvantage of the low-cost PIC)

If too many patch changes are sent at the same moment, a MIDI buffer overrun can happen, accordingly some patch changes can get lost.

Solution: add a delay between the patch changes.

Alternative solution: if you need to change sounds very often, consider to use Multi Engine based patches instead, and assign the sounds to different channels and/or keyboard zones. This allows to realize typical C64-like tunes with many different sounds.

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Thanks for the advice. Not bombing the synth with patch changes makes it much happier :)

Thank you for all your work and for making an amazing thing like this possible!
