echoer Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hi All! I was trying to find an LCD screen that will work with the MB-6582 control surface PCB. I found this one at Mouser and would like to see if anyone here could help me verify that it would work. Many people use Mouser as a supplier and I think it would be helpful to other midibox users. The price is also cheaper than Crystalfontz if you are just ordering a small quantity. The link to the Mouser page is here and the link to the spec sheet is here. Thanks for your help. Happy to be a new member here and I am excited to build some cool Midibox gear.
xarolium Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Dear echoer, I don't know if your LCD will work with the MB6582 but you can find some LCD cheaper than on Mouser web site on ebay with a lot of different color and the chip HD44780 (who work with the Midibox app) http://shop.ebay.fr/i.html?rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2&_nkw=lcd%204x20&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283 and this one work for shure with the MB6582 Best regard, Xarolium
Wilba Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 If you're thinking of buying from Mouser, I recommend the negative white Optrex STEP LCD: http://www.optrex.com/products/partdetail.asp?PartNumber=C-51847NFQJ-LW-AAN Mouser part: 805-51847NFQJLWAAN (ignore photo on Mouser page) If you prefer black text on white: http://www.optrex.com/products/partdetail.asp?PartNumber=C-51847NFJ-SLW-ADN Mouser part: 805-51847NFJSLWADN (ignore photo on Mouser page) though I haven't seen this one in real life, I can guarantee it will have better contrast and most likely a more uniform backlight.
echoer Posted December 16, 2010 Author Report Posted December 16, 2010 Excellent. Thanks for your quick and thoughtful replies.
sineSurfer Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Hi echoer, after burning other LCD I went with this green text/black bg LCD, looks really good. mouser #: 805-51847NFQJLGACN
