ThomasT Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 On weekend I want to make the prototype. Reichelt, Farnel, Microchip have sent all parts. (except the optocoupler SFH6319 I wanted to use). How can I check if bootloader was successfully burned and the pic ist running? Doas it send some kind of MIDI-Events at booting time? Or can I force to do it?
TK. Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Yes, the bootstrap loader sends an upload request which is also a "sign of live"Please read the bootloader page carefully, there are a lot of things which have to be taken into account (I hope that I didn't miss anything...)Best Regards, Thorsten.
ThomasT Posted August 28, 2003 Author Report Posted August 28, 2003 Thanks. But I did not found it in the page. That's why I asked.
deletemeplease Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 go on the ucapps.de website, scroll down on the left till you see "MIOS" click on "Bootstrap Loader" (I guess you already found this page if you've burn the bootstrap firmware).Scroll down on the bootstrap page till you get to "Solution" and download and set up Midi-Ox as described. Then when you power on the core with the PIC18 stuffed, and midi out connected you should see SysEx string "F0 00 00 7E 40 00 F7" this is a request for upload which also serves as proof that the bootstrap loader is downloaded correctly. If you have anymore problems look at my FAQ at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/keith.williamson/midifaq/midi%20faq.htm If that doesnt solve it post a message here, and then email me so i can add the solution to my FAQ! ;)
