Sammich sid firmware upload problems *FIXED*

Hi, I am in the final stages of finishing my sammich :frantics:

I had some dramas last night trying to upload the firmware

I installed the IC's last night (as per help here )

I get this message Screenshot2011-07-19at83935AM.png

All midi cables are connected correctly, I did the midi interface feedback loop test last night with success.

All IC's were installed the right way, the sammich powers on and the lcd has ready message on it, on boot up (sammich) I get the MIOs 1.0g C 2009 T.Klose message.

Sometimes when plugging/unplugging the midi cables, the back light lcd led flickers or turns off... and once after power cable was disconnected, while removing the midi cables the back light led was still on?

Any idea where to from here?

cheers

Edit "JMO header has the shunt installed correctly"

Hi,

first, you could try another MIDI-Interface than the Elektron interface (if you have one at hand).

But that flickering, when MIDI cables are plugged in usually indicates some other problems.

For a diagnosis, we would need

a) hi-res photos of the PCB with the MIDI sockets (frontside with plugged in ICs and backside for seeing the solder joints)

b) name and specs of the used PSU.

Bye,

Peter

Hey Peter thanks for reply!

PSU;

powertech

input 240VAC 50Hz

output 12VAC

Current 500mA

I tried my motu micro lite midi interface with the same results.

My photography skills are not the best, if you have any further picture requests please let me know and I will try my best. These are some pics so far...

Got it sorted!

The solder pad on the pcb of the jmi middle pin (I think, or jmo?) was non existent, I could only tell with a magnifying glass, I could not get it to connect what so ever, so I ran a piece of wire to bridge it to where it needed to be and complete the circuit!

Success!

Thanks all for your help!

It's going! yay!

:frantics:

Going to start another thread on another possible issue...
