Guest 123 Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 On the site it says:Apply power to the module(core) after all parts except the PIC and the optocoupler are mounted. Check the voltage levels between the most important pins with a multimeter (analog or digital doesn't matter) before plugging the PIC and the 6N138 into the socket:IC1:MCLR(1) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5VIC1:Vdd(11) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5VIC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5VIC2(8) - IC2:(5) = 5VCould someone tell me which pins these correspond to?I mean,is it saying to check voltage between pin1 & pin 12,pin 11 & pin 12,etc...?If so,how do I determine which pin is #1? With the chip label readable,is pin #1 on the bottom left and pin #21 the top left? And,is IC2 the optocoupler?(I am obviously pretty new to electronics). Quote
Guest 123 Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I have no idea why my last post added those smileys to it.Very annoying.Sorry.The part with the smileys is supposed to say:IC2(8) - IC2:(5) = 5V Quote
DriftZ Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 You find this info in the PIC datasheet:http://www.microchip.com/1010/pline/picmicro/category/embctrl/14kbytes/devices/18f452/index.htmhttp://www.microchip.com/download/lit/pline/picmicro/families/18fxx2/39564b.pdfa must read ! ;) Quote
TK. Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Please don't forget to take a look into the schematic http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core.pdf which contains the pin numbers, tooBest Regards, Thorsten. Quote
