Hello All,

For the minimal sid control surface are 4 sel buttons, 1 menu button and an encoder needed. Is it possible to wire those directly to the core without the need of a din module. If so how can this be realised?

Also I read in he forum that it is possible to wire a maximum of 8 pots to the core w/o the need for an ain. What is the best solution to do this keeping in mind that you need to connect one pole of each pot to a ground line.

If this is possible a sid with a menu for all editing parameters and 8 dedicated pots can be easily realised with only a core and a sid module + lcd. The ain handler for the sid is already realised by TK an D2K and can be customized to you own needs (i was trying to do this for half a year or so with no result, so thanks a lot).

I think it's not possible with MIOS... (I think you can, but as MIOS is not designed in this way it wil be hard) but maybe you can add a 74hc165 to the core module (directly link to the right port of the core) and so you can have just one pcb ;)

Hi,

I know for sure that it is possible to connect 8 pots directly to the analog inputs of the pic. The only thing i have to find out is how to wire them.

I was hoping it is also possible to wire the buttons and encoder required for the minimal sid surface directly to the core without the use of the din module. Has anyone expierence in this?

Hi Captain.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately when you use J5 it is not possible anymore to connect pots as well. I have to build the din module i think to realise my plans

thanks for the info

Hi guys,

thanks again, I'll try this solution.Do you maybe have a vector board layout for this Dinx1 solution?
