MBCV V2 / AOUT connection to SEQ V4

Now I have my MBCV V2 connected to my SEQ V4 (STM32F4) with a USB cable in Host Mode. The MBCV V2 is powered through the SEQ.

The SEQ crashes sometimes, and I suspect that is has to do with this connection.

My question is:

-Will the MBCV V2 work the same if it is connected to the SEQ with a normal MIDI cable? Will it be "slower" than the USB connection?

I only use the MBCV V2 with an AOUT to control 2 filters from the SEQ. Would it be better to connect the AOUT directly to the SEQ?
