Trapstate
Hi all,For some time now I've been using my mono "SID Vicious" which is just great. However, I do have one problem: when changing a patch I hear a loud 'Plop" sound. Ofcourse this can be expected because all parameters are updated, but the plop is so loud I really have to be carefull :-/I think it's my combination of SID version (MOS 6581 3984) and capacitors (WIMA 470nF ceramic). Did anyone have this problem before? what's a good combo for SID version and caps for a low plop sound? Thanks,Trap.
TK.
There is no way to avoid this soundBest Regards, Thorsten.
moebius
What about setting volume register zero, before updating any other parameters? Could this solve the problem? (maybe just stupid), Samppa
TK.
No, especially changing the volume register will produce a "plop" sound (it changes the DC offset). This effect has been used for playing samples in the C64 days... ;-)Best Regards, Thorsten.
