Hello everybody,

Want I want to do is to built a midi-controller that consist of just a matrix of 64 or 72 buttons ( perhaps with led-indicators ) that will just send note-on messages. - I want to use it in order to trigger the clips in Ableton's session view.

The problem for me is that electronica is even less than greek to me..

I was wondering is someone would be willing to provide me with some info, like

- what do I need to buy

- what tutorial to read

I know this will be a very simple controller compared to the stuff I've seen here so far , so I truly hope I don't have to go to tech school in order to get things happening.

Many thanks in advance

Johan

Take a look @ the MIDIO128 on the UCApps page. You don´t have to use all 128 buttons, and there´s no matrix used (all buttons are assigned to a single DIN). So you also can switch five simultanous.

For that "What I need to buy" and so on: Just read the page there. Everythings kinda self-explaining and well documented. It´s a hard entry to the DIY world, but others managed that also!  :)
