Hacking hardware dsp VA synths?

I was poking around on google, to try to find info on the Motorola 56303 dsp chip, as this is what my Novation Nova uses, and the Nova suffers some well known headroom problems, as well as some other annoying problems.

I came across this interview http://interview.sonikmatter.com/data/steve_duda.php via this forum post http://aulos.calarts.edu/pipermail/music-dsp/2002-September/017596.html

where Steve Duda claims that someone flashed Virus code into a microwave II, turning it into a virus! I thought this was interesting, even if it sounds a bit far fetched! But with people like Thorsten around, anything is possible!

Well, In theory it should be possible. I think you may have to modify code  for the controls, as that is the most likely thing to be implemented differently.Oh, and of course the two pices would need to use the same proccessor. I don't think all the hacking in the world would make my EA-1 into a Virus......
