Guest mle
Hi there.I'm having few troubles...:- First of all, it does send something to midiout, when using in sequencer mode, but dunno what...=( My MC-505 went crazy, when I plugged it...My computer is kinda broke at the moment, so I can't do midimonitoring with it...I have checked, and doublechecked whole pcb, no success so far...- How should those F1-F4 buttons act...? I push them, and yes, LED turns on, but it goes of when depressing. I used push buttons, like schemo said...Please don't tell me, I need to use toggle switches or something like that...=/- And last, my MB founds 16 banksticks...No BS's connected...=/ Hmm...Well, when it founds one, it erases all settings...=(Thanks in Advance!Matti
TK.
I already answered via EMail, here a copy for the records:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------just a quick but (hopefully :) helpful answer: it seems that you didn'tsolder a 1k pull-up on pin RA4 of the PIC. This resistor is absolutelyrequired, otherwise the firmware cannot determine if a bankstick isconnected or not.You will find the pull-up resistor as R2 here http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core.pdf - the schematic will help you tolocate the correct pin.Another important hint: the serial input pin of the last 74HC165 requiresa 10k pull-up resistor. In http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_dinx4.pdf you will find this resistor as R36. Without this pull-up, the box will send random button events.Best Regards, Thorsten. Guest mle
Hi there!Yeah, guess what. You were right, 1k resistor from pin 6 to Vcc was missing...It wasn't drawn in Greg's PCB...I also had _really_ old schematics, it wasn't there either... :-/My mistake. I looked newer schematics, and there it was. What an idiot I was! Well, these things happends...Now it's working like a dream! I tweaked last night, and...OH MY GOD. I felled in love. As I've always been analog-freak, this thing is really for me. Thanks Thorsten!I'll try take some photos from it, as soon as I can get digi-cam from somewhere... ;Dmle.
