hi there!

i'm still trying to get my core module running. checked several things to figure out the error etc. i also did the "tutorial" for midi troubleshooting (led test etc.). as i got no signal when attatching a led to the midi out i fixed a problem with a cold solder at the xtal and then the box passed this test also. so i was happy and prayed that my box will work after that. before i fixed this problem i also tryed to loopback the midi interface of my soundcard (m-audio delta ap 2496). this worked for me. but after a few attempts to get the core running i did it again and now it won't work anymore. all other things of my soundcard are working fine (wavout, input) so... is it possible that i shredded the midi interface of the card?

thx

Hi,

thats very unlikely! The MIDI Out is (normaly) protected with a resistor, so that a short cannot destroy the hardware.

Mostly it's the driver which locks up the interface. I've the same problem with a M-Audio MIDIsport 2x2, under some special circumstances (I haven't understand it yet...) the MIDI Out doesn't work anymore until the next Windows reboot.

Best Regards, Thorsten.

argh

i have also installed a new driver and did a reboot. still no input. in midiox only the midi out (of the delta ap) at the midi port activity flickers. but i think thats no indicator that the card really sends something.

don't know what to do. and it's not fine that i perhaps will have to send my card back and have to wait for a new one. so it seems that my midibox project is paused now  :( >:( :(
