hey all..  got my core working..  tested it with the interconnection test..   everything checks out..  all voltages are good. .even the 12v line looks good..    but when i put the chip in, the crystal and sid, get hot! any ideas?

Hi,

most SIDs are getting very hot, some not. Hey, thats analog gear :)

I don't see problems so long the voltage at pin 28 is still 12V after power-on. If it's much lower (< 11V...), a soldering error could be the reason. But if you see >11V, then you've got one of the older chips which consume a lot of power.
