Fx3_hdrive Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 hii have notices on a JMD module page that the socket used is not male:i have a serial cable that has two females on the ends, this cable does not fit to the socket on the JMD. i thought to use a Null-modem cable? but i dont have it. i heard that the pins on it twist. can i just replace a socket on the JMD that fits my cable?thankx in reserve.Yarek T. adamjking Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Hi,I would just get a straight through serial cable and use it with a female connector on the JDM. When I first built my JDM, I too had a cable with two female ends and thought I could use a male connector on the JDM. But it was a null modem cable and the pins are indeed twisted. Avoid the possibiltiy for confusion and just get a new serial cable. Quote
titan Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Don't use a null modem cable , but change just the socket on your programmer to a male one, i did it and it work without problems! ;) Quote
