MAX525 DAC question

Hello everyone,

First off I would like to say that I'm pretty new here and I

haven't had time to build anything yet but I had a question

about the DAC used in the AOUT board.

In the parts list you mention that you are looking for a

cheaper alternative / place to buy the chip, however, I

was wondering how much more difficult it would be to

multiplex a couple lower cost DACs instead of using the

MAX525, for example, using two Microchip MCP4922 dual

12-bit DACs as opposed to a single MAX525 quad chip.

Also, if you are interested, the datasheet for the MCP4922

can be found here:

http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/21897a.pdf

Also, one other quick question, does anyone know what

the voltage levels of a consumer or pro line out?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sean
