Where are MIDI sockets?

Does anyone have a good source for MIDI sockets?  I searched Mouser to no avail.  I ended up buying 5 pin XLR sockets thinking that might be it but they are way too big.

Hello epochsounds,

I'm from germany, so I get my sockets from reichelt (www.reichelt.de).

But I looked at the moser site:

They have a lot of MIDI sockets! You have to search for "DIN Circular Connectors". Take the 5pin ones.

One which looks similar to the ones from my german distributor is part nr. 161-2105.

Hope this helps

Greetings from USA (sorry about the mess).

So that's what they are called!  "DIN Circular Connectors"   Funny that they don't list them as MIDI too.

You also have to make sure you get the degrees right, as there are a million different circular din sockets. The midi socket has 5 pins in a 180 degree arc.

Farnell has excellent documentations in their online catalog.

I have purchased 5-pin dins, from Digikey.com.

I believe they have different types, angled surface mount etc...

You might check allelectronics.com too, I believe I might have seen some there also.

-Good luck
