Hello everyone I got my core and din and dout modules put to gather over the weekend and was needing some clarification on a few things.

1. I need the pin out of a male midi cable from the solder side from left to right.

2.do I need to make any voltage checks before putting in my chips on the core and din, dout, modules.

3.once I have my core hooked up to the computer, all I have to do is load the mios, and then edit a syx and then convert it to a SysEx dump and then transfer it via the syxex box, and I will be ready to go?

thanks everyone for the help.

just so you know, I need the male pin out because I couldnt find any female plugs so I cut a midi cable in half and just bought some cable couplings, now I have two cables with female ends. I guess a pin out of either (male or female) would be the same, I have seen plenty on the internet but cant find one that specifies which end they are looing at solder or plug side.

Hi,

1. I need the pin out of a male midi cable from the solder side from left to right.

if you look on the core page of the website  there is a pdf with the core schematic you can find the pinout there

do I need to make any voltage checks before putting in my chips on the core and din, dout, modules.

on the pages of the modules, in the "soldering guide" there are sometimes voltages you can measure (on core page). It's always good to look at the schematic to check which ic-pins should get V+, ground(, V-) and measure if you get the right voltages on those pins.

If you finished soldering the boards and you burnt the bootstrap loader with the programmer  ( JDM or the Brocolli18 ) you can upload mios and then the application with Serge's sysexbox (or MIDI-OX)

cheers,

marcel
