Pots for US/Canada?

Wondering ( again ) if anyone can share their order numbers for Mouser or Digikey for appropriate pots. I just have no idea how much to spend and the prices seems all over the place. Should they be panel mount? Anything else they should be aside from linear? ( ie carbon, cermet, ??? )
