defred Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Hi there I'm currently trying to build a Midiclock to Analog clock device found here http://www.angelfire.com/geek/srlabs/diner.htmlMy question is, Can I use the Jdm module to program this pic, there's a huge physical difference beetween the PIC18F452 and this one, but maybe I just need to adapt the socket for the 16F84, or route the important pins to the new one.Any infos welcomedeFred
moebius Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Hi,MBHP_JDM is just an adaptation of a original JDM programmer: http://www.jdm.homepage.dk/newpic.htmGet a 18pin "machine pin" ic socket (these are harder to break ;)), compare the original JDM schematics and MBHP_JDM one - all the signals needed to program 16F84 can be taken from the socket of a MPHP_JDM.So, use jumper wires to connect 18pin socket like in original schematics and leave some wires longer - to be plugged into MBHP_JDM.. (some additional wiring stuff is included for serial EEPROMs, but I'm no expert and don't know what to leave out..)Bye, Moebius
