Velleman does sell "cheap" kits but their serial link is too slow for advance use. xoscope / COMEDI seems marvelous!

Do you have any advice on such interfaces?

DIY, available as a kit, plug-and-play... Whatever! Linux-compliant if possible (using Wine)...
