What to program MIDI SID with?

I've recently built up a core module + SID. In the future I plan to add an LCD+DIN module for some buttons but I'd like to test out what I have so far. What should I download to the core module. I assume I first need to send down MIOS 1.7 ( and I've done that sucessfully ). I then tried a few files in the midibox_sid_v1_6 zip and none of them seemed to work. I tried both main.syx and setup 6581_without_cs ( which I assume means without control surface but I can't find any documentation on it ). What's the best program to use to test out my SID and then what should I program it with to actually use it?

Thanks-

John

hi,

if you have the bootstrap loader and mios installed (you know for sure you do?) you just have to upload the right syx-file (so setup_8580_without_cs.syx or setup_6581_without_cs.syx for now) or you can modify one of the other asm-files and build it to a hex-file, (both with mplab_ide). then convert the hex to syx and upload it through midi.

Both mios and the application can be uploaded with midi-ox or serges sysexloader; all to be found on the ucapps.de website.

good luck,

marcel
