Midibox 64 not working

Just started building part of a mbox64..  i've got 16 knobs.. and they all work thru the ain_example_3..  but i load up the midibox64 app. and i get no midi out.. can't seem to connect with the windows gui, and can't load programs without restarting and sometimes reloading the os..  someone help.. ???

standard question: is the 1k pull-up resistor (R2) connected to pin RA4 of the core module?
