LCD contrast pot / power switch

Hi!

I always wanted to make a Midibox since I've discovered this site but I had no electronic knowledge at all. But the MBHP has simplify the system and I decided to try to build my own (with the help of some friends).

I have two questions:

1. Before the MBHP concept there was a contrast pot for the LCD module. Is it still possible to connect one and is it necessary?

2. How can I connect a on/off switch to the power supply (J1 connection of the core module), and what kind of switch do I need (single pole/double pole...)?

Thanks a lot for your response and sorry for my bad english (I'm french speaking...)!

And Thanks a lot Thorsten for your great work and best wishes for the new year to all! :D

It's going good for me and the help I've received here has been one of the main factors of that without adoubt...

WRT ur q's:

Is it still possible to connect one and is it necessary?

Yes, both luminance and contrast - there are 2 trimmer pots on the core module. See: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core.pdf

How can I connect a on/off switch to the power supply

You want a make or break switch I beleive - neway it aint a biggy, check: http://www.midibox.org/midibox64_walkthrough/index.html - This is a great walkthrough....

All the best with ur project and happy nye!
