Guest alienspice Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Hi midiboxers!Mr Murphy is ever present...... Â :-XI think I'm not understanding something or that I have something broken in my modules...Theis is my history.... please .... a tip is welcome...Thank u in advanceAleCore:with a 6N139It sends continuosely cc messages for brighthness and volume on all midi channels.SOLVED connecting all unused pin of J5 to ground. 6N139 seems to work well.Display:Solved all probs cheching the cable, now it works well.DIN: I've connected one module with all ics and resistances but with only 8 buttons connected (under and above ic1.0nly button 1 (enter) works. It calls main menu but the core gives out some note on messages (see below) when pushing the button; releasing it the core gives out the note off messages correspondent to note on messages sent before.May be Pic doesn't recognize Lcd so it disable Menu buttons?? Â How can I check this signal from Lcd to Pic?Note on/off messages: ch1 Eb4; ch1 D4; ch1 C#4; Ch8 C3; Ch7 C3; Ch6 C3; Ch5 C3; Ch4 C3; Ch3 C3; Ch2 C3; Ch1 C3; Ch16 C3; Ch15 C3; Ch14 C3; Ch13 C3; Ch12 C3; Ch11 C3; Ch10 C3; Ch9 C3.It repeats a C6 note on for midi channels from 8 to 1; after a C4 note on on all midi channels ( 8 to 1 and 16 to 9 ); after a C5 note on on all midi channels ( 8 to 1 and 16 to 9 ).After it sends Rev deph, chorus depth, Brightness and volume cc with value 0 on every channelAIN: Only ic 1 is in the socket analog input 2-3-4 are connected to ground. I've connected only pot 1 and 2, all the other outs ( pot 3 / pot 8 ) are connected to ground.Pot 1 sends double messages on ch1 and ch4 (all reverb depth) on display I see bar #1 displayng correctly and bar # 4 flickering but displaying the same value of bar #1.Pot 2 do the same of pot 1 but for ch 2 and ch 3 and bars #2 and #3. ??? TK. Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Perfect! The PIC has been burned successfully and you get the default MIDI events. Only problem is that you forgot to tie all unused pot inputs to ground. When no 4051 chip is connected to a ANx input of the PIC, the appr. pin should also be connected to ground. All unused digital inputs have to be tied via a 10k pull-up resistor to +5V. Also the end of the DIN chain must have an pull-up resistor (see schematic)Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote

When no 4051 chip is connected to a ANx input of the PIC, the appr. pin should also be connected to ground. As i wrote I've conneted all unused pots inputs of J1 to ground (Vss)....rechecked..... all the others all the other ins are not wired to ground because I've not put the ic 2 - 3 - 4 in the sockets but I've connected to ground A1 A2 A3 pins of J5....can't understand why it want not to workAll unused digital inputs have to be tied via a 10k pull-up resistor to +5V. Also the end of the DIN chain must have an pull-up resistor (see schematic)I've putt all the componets of the schematic... If you are talking about R1 to R32 they are all connected on the pcbWhat is the end of din chain? R33 to R36? they are all present... :o Quote
TK. Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Ok, the basics are ok. I've read your posting again. Possible problem with the analog inputs: check the interconnections between the multiplexer inputs of the AIN module (J6) and J6 of the core module.Buttons: check the clock signals between core and DIN module (they are called "SC" and "RC"), because when the register chain is not clocked, only the exec button input is reachable for the core and triggers the functions of the other 63 inputs (no, the navigation isn't disabled).Best Regards, Thorsten. Â BINGO!DIN:Another PCB issue: some copper was not corroded between SC and RC.Thank u Thorsten for your support.Soon you will have some photos for your gallery. My next project will be the Logic controller....can't wait.Ciao!
