Kinda defeats some of the purpose really... :)I've never really seen them used and had some time in board manufacture with loads of SMD projects....the only SMD style sockets I can remember using were on larger programmable PLCC style chips.Hmmm.... good luck with your search. moebius Posted September 1, 2005 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 I sort of agree with Jimi.There are PLCC sockets, but I haven't seen any for SOICs. Some "programming sockets" are available, but those are probably very expensive. Anyway, adapter PCBs for SMD components are made, that have DIP pins..
