Midi connector: What is "rear"?

This is a bit ambiguous.

Which one is "rear view"? (referring to the core module schematics)

My core module is not saying a word so I'm thinking maybe I've done this wrong. I tried B.

B (the right one) is rear. i had troubles with this also. but when you think again there's really no doubt of what's rear.
