Midibox CV, newbie question

I have a question  ???.....

Can i built the midibox CV  without the AOUT module (only core, lcd and DIN)

and expect that it will work as a midi to gate (x8) interface.

Im building an analog drum synth, and im looking for the midi interface.

Hi Julio,

it's possible without problems. But for such a primitive application, you don't really need the LCD and menu buttons, or are you planning to change the MIDI Note mapping every day? It's better to use the MIDIO128 instead, it provides up to 128 digital outputs (= gate triggers) and can be configured via SysEx
